McKesson has mustered over 14,000 employees to do a volunteer project of assembling and delivering care packages to some 16,000 hospitalized US veterans. The project is part of McKesson’s support of National Volunteer week, which ran April 20-25. Volunteers assembled tote bags that contain some of hospitalized veterans’ most requested items including a fleece blanket, personal care items, and most importantly, a hand-written note of thanks for their service to the country.
Coincidentally, McKesson has moved up to No. 15 on the Fortune 500 list, just published. The company had been at No. 18. It is the largest healthcare-focused company on the list.
