Morris & Dickson has new leadership

Morris & Dickson Co., LLC, the US’ largest privately owned wholesale pharmaceutical distributor, has a new CEO: Jody Hatcher, who was most recently president of supply chain services for Vizient, and before that president and CEO of Novation, the group purchasing organization (GPO). (Novation became part of Vizient in 2015.)

Hatcher takes over from Paul Dickson, who is retiring from day-to-day management of the company. “This is exciting transformational change for our 180-year-old company,” he says. The succession also ends a 70-year string of Dickson family management of the company.

Based in Shreveport, LA, Morris & Dickson distributes brand, generic, and specialty pharmaceuticals, as well as OTC and home health products to independent retail pharmacies, alternate care entities, and health systems. A closely-held corporation with a 180-year heritage, Morris & Dickson has grown to become the fourth largest pharmaceutical distributor in the country.
