Honor is given to companies that demonstrate a commitment to expanding access to healthcare for people in need.
Americares, in partnership with the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA), presented its annual Power of Partnership Award to Eli Lilly and Company, in recognition of its commitment to increasing access to healthcare around the world. The parties created the award in 2005 to recognize HDA-member pharmaceutical manufacturer and distribution organizations that have shown dedication to expanding access to healthcare for people in need across the globe.
Lilly and Americares have worked together since 1986, with Lilly donating products valued at more than $150 million to Americares to support its partner clinics and community health centers in the US, as well as emergency response and recovery efforts worldwide. To date, Americares has delivered Lilly products to Americares partner health facilities in more than 70 countries.
“Lilly is among our most dedicated supporters, providing product donations that improve health and save lives,” says Jenny Goldstein, Americares SVP and chief development officer. “With Lilly’s support, Americares is working to meet some of the world’s most pressing health needs, including management of diabetes and other serious health conditions for people affected by poverty or disaster.”
