Facility features cell storage for CAR-T cell treatments
Biolife Solutions, Inc., a developer and supplier of bioproduction products and services for the cell and gene therapy (C>) industry, and its subsidiary SciSafe, a provider of storage services to the CGT and biopharma market, have opened up a new 40,000 square-foot biorepository Center of Excellence in Amsterdam, Netherlands, which is in close proximity to Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport.
This facility, which is partly contracted out to an anchor major pharma client, will feature a CAR-T cell storage suite for the development of CAR-T cell treatments and a freezer farm of more than 300 Stirling Ultracold ultra-low temperature freezers for biopreservation of customers' temperature sensitive biologic material. European pharma manufacturers are expanding their existing partnerships with SciSafe by using this new Amsterdam storage facility as a way to expand access to lifesaving biologic therapies.
" … We plan to fully leverage our facilities to showcase our tools and services portfolio, and to create centers of excellence for education and training on CGT bioprocessing workflows,” notes Michael Rice, Biolife’s chairman and CEO.
