Agreement provides Acentrus with specialty pharmacy accreditation
URAC, an independent healthcare accreditation organization, has launched a partnership with Acentrus Specialty, a specialty pharmacy network for hospitals and health systems. The Acentrus network embodies 111 hospitals and health systems across the US, ranging from academic medical centers to community hospitals.
The deal, which grants Acentrus customers with discounted pricing for URAC Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation, reinforces URAC’s mission to improve the quality of healthcare across the country by encouraging health systems and hospitals to seek specialty pharmacy accreditation, a credential that helps them compete for access to limited distribution drugs.
As Jeffrey Carr, URAC’s vice president of business development notes, this new agreement helps expand specialty pharmacy offerings across healthcare organizations.
“By partnering with the Acentrus network," Carr said, "URAC will be able to help a growing number of health systems and hospitals operate specialty pharmacies serving their own patient populations.”
