Glass in Vial Leads to Recall of One Lot of Veklury

Gilead Sciences is issuing a voluntary recall of one lot of Veklury (remdesivir) for Injection 100 mg/vial because of glass found in a vial. Gilead had received a customer complaint and confirmed the presence of the glass particle in the vial. Veklury is indicated to treat adults and children who are hospitalized with COVID-19.

Roche Narrows Pharma Pipeline Amid Push Into Obesity Market

The company cut about 25% of its pipeline, said Teresa Graham, chief of Roche’s pharma division.

New Publication Evaluates Awareness of High Breast Density as a Risk Factor for Breast Cancer

In honor of World Dense Breast Day on September 25, Bayer announced today a new study, published in Patient Preference and Adherence, evaluating awareness and knowledge gaps of breast cancer risk factors among women with and without high breast density (HBD). The study, a web-based survey, found only 39 percent were familiar with the concept of HBD in the context of breast cancer, and 31 percent were aware of HBD as a Breast Cancer Risk Factor.
