I hope you've been enjoying our coverage of #trade2024 in Pharmaceutical Commerce Magazine thus far! Day 2 of the conference has been off to a lovely start! Attended multiple sessions back to back. The first was led by Opeyemi Odusami (formerly of Sanofi), who presented on securing the US #supplychain and managing global products. For one, he said, dual sourcing strategies are being implemented in order to balance global efficiency and local reliability, an effort accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following Odusami's session was one surrounding the actions needed to mitigate and prevent #drugshortages, presented by Amy Sonderman of US Pharmacopeia. There are various factors correlated with drug shortages - including low prices, manufacturing complexity, production concentration, and quality concerns - and 2023 saw the highest numbers of shortages in the last decade. Stay tuned for coverage of both sessions, which'll be out soon.
I should also tease the plethora of video interviews that are coming down the pike, featuring Kevin O'Meara of EVERSANA; Cheryl Allen and Jon Hamrick of Curatio Scientia Advisors; Dr. Bill Trombetta, PhD., Esq., MBA of Saint Joseph's University; and Lisa Arthurs of Two Labs.
