Impel Pharmaceuticals, a commercial-stage biopharma company, has appointed Michael W. Kalb as its CFO. He has more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and financial service industries; prior to joining Impel Pharmaceuticals, he was EVP & CFO of CinCor Pharma.
Scorpius BioManufacturing, a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has appointed Joe Payne as VP of quality and regulatory affairs. With a biopharma and pharmaceutical career spanning more than 20 years, his experience includes leadership roles at both CDMOs (Alcami Corporation and Tergus Pharma) and large pharma (Teva Pharmaceuticals). Payne will be responsible for ensuring quality and compliance remain at the forefront of Scorpius' biomanufacturing capabilities.
Cindy Perettie will join Gilead Sciences, Inc. as EVP of Kite, which is owned by Gilead. She will be overseeing the cell therapy business, and will become a member of Gilead’s senior leadership team. Perettie brings with her extensive experience in oncology and a commitment to improving patient care. Most recently, she was head of Roche’s Molecular Lab Solutions, where she oversaw the PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and sequencing business.
TraceLink Inc., a digital network platform company, has appointed George Llado to its board of directors. He is the former SVP and chief information officer of Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where he built the company's global information technology function that enables Alexion to serve patients with rare diseases. A bio-pharma industry veteran with over 35 years of business, information technology, and cyber-security experience, Llado and his team developed and implemented innovative technology and data-driven insights across Alexion's R&D, commercial, and supply chain functions.
Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services has promoted Bert Barbosa to president & COO, United States. The CDMO also welcomes Brian Blagg and Satoshi Katayama to join the company as the EVP, operations and VP, business transformation, respectively. Along with these additions to the site leadership team, the company has appointed Erik Riley as SVP, corporate planning. These changes are expected to bring integral expertise to Aji Bio-Pharma as it continues to expand its capacity and service offerings.
ArisGlobal, a drug development software company, has appointed Julie Springer as its first ever CMO. She has a 30-year track record of marketing for technology-driven, rapid-growth organizations. At ArisGlobal, Springer will lead all marketing functions, including brand, communications, content, performance, and product marketing.
Peter Waller, PhD, has been appointed as the new CFO of Aenova Group, a CDMO, and managing director of Aenova Holding GmbH. He has experience as a CFO of in various industries including Flender, Swissport International, CEVA Logistics, and Eurofins. Aenova's previous CFO, Ralf Schuler, will be available in the coming months to ensure a seamless transition.
