Marken deepens its clinical trial logistics presence in India

Marken has taken two key steps in enlarging its range of activities in India: a tripling of its office and cold chain warehousing space in Mumbai, and an exclusive agreement with Jeena & Co., which will “act as Marken's exclusive third party sales agent in the India territory and will engage in continued, active promotion of Marken to enable new clients to access Marken's global network and tracking systems for shipments to and from destinations in over 150 countries.” Both companies will leverage each other’s assets in managing shipments of clinical trial materials, direct-to-patient and related services in pharma distribution.

The Mumbai facility will now house a Marken Global Control Center, monitoring shipments into and out of the Asia Pacific region. Marken has four other Indian facilities (Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi) that will support movement within the country.

Jeena, a century-old shipping company, is the largest Indian freight forwarder and has been ranked as one of the top three logistics companies in the country, according to the firm. It employs over 750 professionals.
