DIANA Awards for best product launches go to Alkermes and Mylan
HDA’s annual Business and Leadership Conference (Colorado Springs, CO; June 10-13) is highlighted by awards: lifetime achievement in industry, association and community; and a series of awards for commercial activities. In the former case, this year’s winner is Michael Conley, currently Vice President of Trade Operations and Analytics at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, where he leads the strategy and implementation efforts for the Novartis trade accounts, customer service, return goods and order management groups. He has served as a member and former co-chair of the HDA Industry Relations Council, and is a member of the HDA Research Foundation Board of Directors. In his Mendham, NJ, community, he has been a leader in fund-raising efforts for child care and mental health.
“Through his longtime role as the ‘face’ of Novartis trade relations, [Conley] has demonstrated a deep industry knowledge and driving passion for his work and peers,” said John Gray, President and CEO, HDA (at left in photo). “HDA and the HDA Research Foundation are pleased to honor his dedication and service through the 2018 Nexus Award for Lifetime Achievement.”
The meeting also features the Distribution Industry Awards for Notable Achievements in Healthcare (DIANA), a “symbol of excellence in the pharmaceutical supply chain,” according to HDA. The awards for best new product introduction or promotion (branded) went to Alkermes for its Aristada extended-release, two-month dose drug, and (generic) to Mylan for glatiramer acetate injection. Other “best manufacturer” awards for overall excellence went to Reckitt Benckiser, Alkermes, Bayer Healthcare, Alvogen, Lannett Co., Amneal Pharma, X-Gen Pharma and Takeda.
