Organization hires Kala Shankle, who joins the team with supply chain security and drug pricing experience.
The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) has brought on Kala Shankle as VP of regulatory affairs. In this position, she will direct regulatory activities and priorities on behalf of HDA’s 35 healthcare distributor members. Shankle will report to HDA Executive VP of government affairs, Patrick Kelly.
In her most recent role, she worked as an attorney for Epstein, Becker and Green, where she counseled pharmaceutical supply chain stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters, including supply chain security, drug pricing, Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) implementation, and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Previously, Shankle provided legal counsel, developed policy solutions and led regulatory engagement for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA).
“Kala brings deep legal and pharmaceutical supply chain experience, which will be beneficial to our association when interfacing with regulatory agencies,” notes Kelly. “As HDA’s healthcare distributor members navigate the final stages of DSCSA implementation and additional regulatory issues in the years to come, Kala will provide distributors with critical guidance to enable them to support a safe and effective pharmaceutical supply chain in the US.”
