Agreement provides Vizient clients—including hospital systems and healthcare suppliers—with additional access to logistics solutions, such as warehousing and distribution.
DHL Supply Chain, a logistics company that operates within Deutsche Post DHL Group, has entered into an agreement with Vizient, a member-driven healthcare performance improvement company, to become a qualified supplier of supply chain third-party logistics (3PL) services. The agreement allows Vizient members, such as hospital systems and healthcare suppliers, increased access to service logistics solutions delivered by DHL Supply Chain.
The logistics company will leverage its experience in the healthcare sector to provide Vizient members with a range of logistics services, including transportation management, warehousing and distribution, and value-added services impacting customer-owned and supplier-owned inventory.
“This contract represents an expansion of our services into a new category—third-party logistics,” comments Chad Mitchell, associate VP, contract & program services, Vizient. “COVID’s impact on the healthcare supply chain drove a shift in purchasing behaviors, highlighting the need for logistics services for provider self-distribution.”
