Deal for Catalent’s blow-fill-seal business now official

SK Capital Partners LP, a private investment firm that focuses on the specialty materials, chemicals and pharmaceuticals sectors, has formally completed the previously announced acquisition of the blow-fill-seal (BFS) sterile contract development and manufacturing business from Catalent Pharma Solutions, LLC.

The business has been renamed Woodstock Sterile Solutions, for its long-standing, rich heritage in the Woodstock, IL community, where the facilities are also located.

Woodstock mainly focuses on clinical-to-commercial stage formulation and manufacturing, with knowledge in small molecule, macromolecules, biologics and potent compounds.

The CDMO also revealed that Paul Josephs, former contract development and manufacturing and global business development head at specialty pharma Mylan, has been tapped as its CEO, effective immediately.
