Project—which is expected to double plant’s distribution capacity—will be completed by end of Q3.
Mawdsleys, a pharmaceutical wholesaler, is adding a new temperature-controlled storage and distribution unit to its existing facility in Doncaster, England. The expansion will feature a 146,238 square-foot temperature-controlled chamber with 12 loading docks, internal racking with in-rack sprinkler system, and a 4,542 square-foot office space, all of which are being built with the assistance of Russell WHBO.
The $15 million addition will reportedly double the size of the complex’s storage and distribution capacity to over 48,000 pallets for Mawdsleys’ third-party logistics (3PL) division, and is expected to be finished by the end of Q3. Upon completion, the site will operate at a controlled internal temperature to store supplies to standards required by the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
“Investment by Mawdsleys Group Investments Unlimited in this new facility will extend our capacity to support existing and new clients in the UK’s growing pre-wholesale market, ensuring we can continue to meet their on-going requirements as part of our growing third-party logistics operation,” says Will Westall, director of Mawdsleys.
