Clinical packager Yourway begins expansion of its HQ

Yourway, a courier and clinical packager in the clinical trials supply chain sector, broke ground on major expansion plans for its headquarters in Allentown, PA. An expanded complex is being built for Yourway’s global operation, adding an additional 3,500 pallet locations of refrigerated 2-8°C (36-46°F) space and increasing its campus size to over 300,000 square feet. Once finished, the expansion will double the primary and secondary packaging, storage, and distribution capabilities of the current facility.

The development will extend Yourway’s temperature-controlled storage capabilities, including 15–25 °C (59-77°F), 2–8°C, –20°C (-4°F), –80°C (-112°F) and -180°C (-292°F), with the goal of tackling the ever-increasing demand for temperature-controlled services for clinical trials that involve biologics and cell and gene therapies, among other advanced modalities.

The new structure will be comprised of dedicated temperature-controlled production rooms for GMP (good manufacturing practice) packaging and clinical trials kitting services, which integrate with the storage and distribution, and courier services under Yourway’s model. Construction has begun, and 1,000 new pallet locations at the aforementioned 2–8°C, which was part of phase 1 of the expansion, is complete.
