DQSA—the Drug Quality and Security Act of 2013, handling product recalls and product safety, DEA compliance for controlled-substances distribution, and specialty pharmacy trends all take center stage at this year’s HDMA meeting (March 9-12, Palm Desert, CA). The meeting brings together both the upper managements of US wholesaler-distributors, and pharma industry managers concerned with supply chains and commercial operations. As has been the case in the past couple years, the meeting is also being supported by the Canadian Association for Pharmaceutical Distribution Management (CAPDM) and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW).
Keynote speakers will be Gov. Michael Leavitt, former governor of Utah and secretary of health and human services in the Bush Administration, and Adam Steltzner, lead landing engineer for the NASA Mars Curiosity Rover project. Michael Murphy, a Washington-based political strategist and media commentator, will give an inside-the-Beltway perspective, and Doug Long, VP, industry relations for IMS Health, will give his annual industry forecast review.
The meeting has an exhibition hall with 29 exhibitors. Details follow:
