At its annual US Commercial Cloud user conference (Philadelphia, May 8-10) Veeva Systems took the wraps off a new extension of its flagship customer relationship-management (CRM) software: MyInsights. The software enables data drawn from data stored in Veeva CRM (or elsewhere) to be visualized in a dashboard quickly and easily—including on mobile devices, thus enabling field salespeople to make decisions based on the visualization. Typical examples include pre-call planning, territories, KOL profiles and the like. “Field teams are empowered with the right information exactly when and where they need it, all in one place,” said Paul Shawah, SVP of commercial cloud strategy.
In a manner similar to its ongoing program of opening up the Veeva platform to other service providers, MyInsights will enable solution partners to create purpose-built dashboards for a variety of visualization goals. Some 20 solution partner have already signed on, including ZS Associates, ad agencies Abelson Taylor and InTouch Solutions, Accenture and others.
During the user meeting, Peter Gassner, Veeva CEO, let on that the company now serves two-thirds of the global pharma field sales ranks; some 500 life sciences companies make use of Veeva CRM and other software platforms, including steadily growing takeup in clinical research. (The 10-year old company previously announced annual revenue of around $544 million.) It was announced that Bristol-Myers Squibb has become the 22nd life sciences client of Veeva Events Management, a recently announced solution for that sales-oriented task; also, there are now 100 customers of Veeva OpenData, the company’s master database of healthcare provider (HCP) information, now incorporating data on 20 million HCPs across 39 countries.
